The above picture is for foreigners, who need  information about Roman key art.

This Program is Designed for practicing RKCB convention

5S  2 or 5 controls with Q trumps (0314 version)

1) If your reply is 5 or 5 and partner bids the next suit, she is asking if you have queen of trump.

2) If the Blackwooder bids 5 NT, that means that she is asking for side suit Kings. 6C response=0 king, 6D response=1 king and 6H response=2 kings. 3)

If responder has a void suit she can show it with the number of aces she has, by bidding, 5NT =2-4 (even number of) key cards and 1 void 6 of a non trump suit=1-3 (odd number of) key cards and a void in that suit 6 of the agreed suit=1-3 (odd number of) key cards and a void in a higher ranking suit. Note: This program also shows if you have a useful void (void in a suit other than trump).

Young beginner asks:
"Then, how can I know if my partner is aspiring to a slam?"

Old player answers:
"Easy.. If your partner is looking deep into your eyes, after his/her last bid, that means that he is aspiring to slam. But, if he starts conversation with the nearest audience after his last bid, he has no aspiration to slam.. In some conventions partners put their arms on the table and look at the ceiling to display their unwillingness to slam"

In this lesson we will talk about the first case: Your behaviors when your partner looks deep into your eyes, as if in search of something.. Since looking at each other will not give an idea about the number of aces.Partners need to develope another way: Blackwood

In  slam biddings, the number of aces of the partnership is very important. Before bidding a slam you must know the number of aces your partnership holds.. The best way is Blackwood.. But, "Roman Key Card Blackwood" also finds great acceptance in slam biddings.

If partnership has no agreed trump suit, conventional 4 NT Blackwood is asking the number of aces that partner holds.. If you agreed on a trump 4NT is nolonger Blackwood, but, Roman Key Card Blackwood..

In Roman Key Card Blackwood convention, you accept the king of your trump suit as the 5th ace. You also show the queen of trump as with king of trump.

There are some additions to RKCB: You can also show if you have a useful void (void in a suit other than trump).

You can practise Roman Key Card biddings with the program at the left. I hope you will find it useful..
